Christopher Pierce — (b. 1949) is a mature artist whose recent paintings have become immensely popular with the gallery's key clients. He is a painter, richly steeped in the tradition of the Old Masters, who brings vibrancy, atmosphere and lush coloration to his work.

From an early age, painting was a passion that Pierce has pursued with great success. Through the years he has studied with David Leffel and Terence Coyle † two giant mentors. In recent years, the art press has focused attention on his talents, with rave coverage in American Artist Magazine, International Artist Magazine and numerous regional journals. In addition, he has garnered prizes and awards from prestigious organizations across the country including: the Salmagundi Club's "Best Traditional Oil" award, and "Best of Show, Master's Division," at the Central Adirondack Annual in Old Forge, NY.

Pierce paints florals, still lifes, portraits, figures and interiors with panache and a mature sensitivity. He is well known for the huge and commanding florals that come from the bounty of his gardens. His colors are ground in the traditions of the old masters, which lend his work a timeless quality.

Pierce has been with John Pence Gallery since 2002 having previously shown widely in the New England and New York areas. His prices range from $1,350 to $60,000, depending on size and complexity of the subject.
