Greg Gandy

Bell and Howell Filmo Door Knocker

Greg Gandy(b. 1980) is a realist painter from central California who now resides and works in San Francisco. He earned two Bachelor's degrees prior to moving to San Francisco, where he earned a Master's Degree from the Academy of Art University in 2007. We first introduced him to our clients in 2008 in the Cityscapes show. That success led us to invite him back for his first solo exhibition with the gallery in 2009. His second solo show ran from September 10th through October 9th, 2010.

Gandy is a meticulous painter who thrives on intricate detail. His work is extraordinarily time consuming, and the results are sublime. Inasmuch as San Francisco has architecture that is full of workmanship and Victorian flair, Gandy represents all this with precision and great skill. He enjoys depicting scenes in every conceivable light, from blazingly sunny days to romantic night scenes. These atmospheric, iconic scenes are accentuated with his brush and richly brought to life. Depending on the time of day or conditions of weather depicted, his palette may contain cool grays and steely blues, to bright bursts of pink, yellow, and orange. Gandy is a master colorist, and works from his own photographs and the many studies he paints on location.

In addition to cityscapes, Gandy is equally skilled at still life and figurative compositions. His mark making is accurate, his colors rich, and his talent seemingly endless.

We strongly recommend his work to you without reservation. Prices for his works range from $1,500 to $25,000 depending upon size and complexity.
