William Bartlett from Massachusetts, first came to our attention through the National Art Competition, Realism Today, staged by American Artist Magazine in 2000. In that competition, in which John Pence served as one of three judges, Bartlett won First Prize in the Still Life Competition. The John Pence Gallery has represented Bartlett since that time and many collectors have acquired his work.

Bartlett is a mid career artist with an impressive and active following in the east. His work is serene, classic, and colorful --- with soft edges and an immense panoply of subjects. His work varies from small gems to an extraordinarily large work that bedazzles.
